NB2 has won 2022 NICT Awards

On June 29, 2022, the “2022 Global AIoT Ecosystem Development Summit”, jointly organized by AspenCore, a well-known media group in the global electronic technology field, and Shenzhen New Generation Information and Communication Industry Cluster, was held in Shenzhen, China. In addition, five sub-forums of industrial Internet, smart home, smart wearable, smart robot, smart two-wheeled vehicle, enterprise matchmaking meeting, NICT Awards, ICT Industry Trendsetter Award, ICT Industry Outstanding Enterprise Award, the award ceremony were held on the same day.
The conference continues to uphold the vision of the previous sessions to find project resources, find products and technical resources quickly and accurately, as well as open upstream and downstream channels, aiming to provide a high-end exchange and cooperation platform for upstream and downstream enterprises in the AIoT industry. The conference received strong support from more than 20 well-known national and municipal special committees, industry associations, high-tech zones, and government offices in Shenzhen. The event attracted nearly 1,000 enterprises and institutions, and more than 2,000 attendees.
The “2022 Global AIoT Ecosystem Development Award Ceremony and VIP Networking Dinner” was held on the evening of the event. The nominated areas for the NICT Awards include 5G, AI, sensors, AIoT chips, AIoT solutions, industrial Internet, new displays, IoT, and robotics, etc. It aims to recognize companies and products with leading domestic and foreign technologies, invention patents, and distinctive innovative characteristics. After more than three months of nomination and evaluation by the evaluation committee, finally 12 innovative products were selected. The RISC-V edge intelligent high-end application processor NB2 launched by Guangdong LeapFive Technology won the 2022 NICT Awards.
NB2 is a RISC-V edge intelligent high-end application processor, targeting industrial IoT scenarios such as smart energy, smart logistics, smart cities, and smart factories etc. It is the first edge intelligent high-end processor based on RISC-V architecture in the industry. NB2 adopts 12nm process and native industrial-grade design, integrates multiple types of heterogeneous processors such as GPU, VPU, NPU, DSP, etc., supports high-speed storage such as DDR4/LPDDR4, eMMC, etc., combined with Gigabit Ethernet, USB3.0, MIPI-DSI, SPI, I2C, UART and other interfaces, which can support a wealth of high-end applications on the edge side of the Industrial IoT and meet stringent requirements such as high performance, high reliability, and low power consumption.
NB2 is in the leading position in performance indicators. Products in this performance range already belong to the field of mid- to high-end embedded application processors. At present, ARM-based solutions more commonly on the market, and there may be supply chain risks in a wide range of industry-level applications. Among them, due to the complex international situation, some domestic products even experienced a situation of “out of supply”. At the same time, the solutions of foreign manufacturers are industrial-grade chips, which can be applied in harsh industrial scenarios; however, domestic related products are mostly consumer-grade, and there may be applicability problems such as stability in industrial-grade applications. The NB2 is based on the RISC-V architecture, which avoids licensing risks, and provides a safe and reliable solution for mid- to high-end embedded edge applications with excellent performance and industrial-grade quality.
